The lobby at Chamberlain Apartments Minneapolis was designed to make a bold first impression, combining modern finishes with warm architectural elements.
A dramatic woodgrain-inspired focal feature frames the seating area, contrasting with the space’s contemporary elements. The result is a welcoming, design-forward entry that sets the tone for residents and guests.
MicroLite!™ Solutions
KMDI fabricated and installed large-format MicroLite!™ panels that extend 11 feet up the wall and continue across the ceiling 21 feet, creating a seamless architectural feature. Finished in a deep walnut woodgrain film, the panels deliver the richness of real wood while remaining lightweight enough to span overhead—something that would be impractical with traditional wood.
KMDI coordinated with the lighting contractor to ensure proper blocking and placement for the pendant fixtures and integrated LED light bars, allowing the architectural panels and lighting design to work together as one cohesive system.
