The Project
As one of the largest convention centers on the West Coast, the Anaheim Convention Center has continued to evolve since opening in 1967. Its seventh expansion brought a major transformation to the facility, including a refreshed main entry and pre-function area designed to make a strong first impression.
KMDI contributed a large-scale architectural feature wall that adds depth, texture, and a warm wood aesthetic to the expansive interior space.
KMDI Solutions
KMDI fabricated a 240-by-45-foot feature wall using lightweight, wood-look panels arranged in a geometric diamond pattern. The panels taper from ½ inch to 4½ inches in depth, creating dimensional texture and visual interest across the wall.
Finished in 3M DI-NOC FW-236 architectural film, the panels deliver the look of wood with the flexibility and reduced weight of KMDI’s MicroLite!™ material. The result is a striking architectural feature that brings warmth and dimension to a large public space.
