Kaiser – A large soffit installed at the Kaiser Permanente Antelope Valley hospital located in the Los Angeles, CA area. Approximately 20’ wide at the widest point and a 17’ maximum depth, the design intent was to create a cantilevered soffit so that no cables or rods would interfere with the view of the associates from the mezzanine level. Only the lightweight nature of MicroLite! would allow this as traditional materials would be impossibly heavy. The six sections that make up the soffit all lock together and no visible means of connection can be detected, even from above, as KMDI developed a special locking method to achieve this seamless look.
